Our feet will go crunch in the snow
And tho I'm cold I'll just keep walking
Pulling the sled behind
I tied my boots with stands candy cane twine
I know these woods like the back of my hand
and I'm looking for the perfect tree

Though we're a Jewish family
we get a tree, a tree from the woods
And we decorate it with blue and white
and Christmas lights
and the Star of David goes on top

We come to a clearing of snow
And I know
that we found the place
Long needle evergreens
everything seems
to be still and silent
Dad has got the ax and
he's chopping away and

We get the tree up in the house
I’m pulling icicles out
of dads beard
We turn it this way and that
trying to find the side
Where the needles are thick

A sad excuse for a Christmas tree
